Historical Scavenger Hunt
Play along and learn more about the history of the City! Participants will be directed around the City to see historically significant buildings and locations and can win prizes.
History of RPV Art Contest
RPV residents of all ages are invited to submit artwork of an RPV historical place or event. Winners will have their artwork presented before the City Council and featured on the City’s 50th anniversary webpage and commemorative souvenirs.
Join the City and Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy in celebration of the City’s 1,500-acre open space preserve, with a nature walk and reception event at Del Cerro Park.

The City of Rancho Palos Verdes and Los Serenos de Point Vicente will proudly present the 38th annual Whale of a Day Celebration. This exciting event is fun for everyone. Whale of a Day celebrates the migration of the Pacific gray whale from the frigid waters of the Arctic seas to the warm lagoons of Baja California.

The Fourth City Tree Grove was planted in 1977 at the then-Rancho Palos Verdes Park (now known as Ryan Park) honoring Gordon Curtis, Dorothy LeConte, and Fred Hesse Jr. for their contributions to the City’s incorporation. Join us for a picnic!

Fourth of July Celebration
The annual Fourth of July event has been a City-hosted event since 1975, almost as long as the City has been incorporated. Enjoy food trucks, music, and children’s activities galore, with a special surprise in store!
Sister City Celebration
August 4 marks the anniversary of establishing a sister city relationship with Sakura City, Japan. Join us to celebrate our intercultural partnership!
